Lombardo's Red depicts a lively gathering of people dining at Lombardo's Restaurant, a well-known Albany landmark.  The restaurant has had a tradition as a center of social life on Madison Avenue in Albany since its establishment in 1918.  The painting is a rich document evoking the intimate social atmosphere of a family restaurant.  Depicted in the painting are Marge Lawlor, a waitress at Lombard's for more than 50 years; the artist and her husband Don Wixon; Wayne Williams, a well-known area collector of contemporary regional art; and a colorful ceramic vase by regional artist Wendy Williams

Lori Lawrence hold an MA from the State University of New York at Albany.  She has exhibited her work throughout the East Coast and is represented in several corporate and many private collections.  She has also served as artist-in-residence and arts-in-education instructor for a wide variety of schools and programs in the region.
