Home School Programs

 

Fee: $15 for non-members, $10 for members, includes museum admission and art materials.

Select Thursdays and Fridays, drop-off from 1:30–4:30 pm.

Registration is required and payment is due at the time of registration.

ASL interpretation is offered for this program. Age requirement is 8 years and older.


 

 


Experience a home school program in which class subjects relate to the exhibitions on view, and incorporate art and historical references to provide a context for learning.

Thursday, January 14
1:30–4:30 pm
Mosaics
Students will study the intricacies of this intriguing art form and use a variety of recycled materials to create their own mosaic works.

Friday, February 5
1:30–4:30 pm
Paper Sculpture
Creating sculpture from paper is an ancient art form that remains popular today. Participants will learn how to use two-dimensional shapes to create three-dimensional paper sculpture.

Thursday, March 4
1:30–4:30 pm
Color and Pattern in Art
Masterful works of art rely heavily on color and patterns to convey a message. Students will use fabric to explore the basic elements and principles of art and create a collage of color and pattern.

Friday, April 23
1:30–4:30 pm
Metallic Relief Sculpture
Experience the unique properties of metals as you use patterns and repetition to create a relief sculpture from copper.
