A museum should be a place

learning and fun for people of all ages. Our family programs provide enriching educational experiences
about art and history in an
atmosphere that is diverse, compelling, and entertaining. These programs have been planned with the needs and schedules of
our audiences in mind. From weekend programs
to family festivals, from school vacation art programs to
special curricula for homeschool students, the
Albany Institute offers a wide
variety of activities that will engage
your family in
enjoyable and

Art for All
Adults and children of all ages are welcome to drop
in at the Albany Institute on
select Saturdays and Sundays to explore history and art through
creativity.
Experience works of art in our galleries and then join in art-making activities in the studio. Programs are held from 1:00 to 4:00
pm and are FREE with museum admission.

Home School Programs
Experience a home school program
in which class subjects relate to the exhibitions on view and
incorporate art-history references to provide context for learning.
Registration is required.

Girl
Scouts & Brownies
Girl Scouts and Brownies, learn the basic skills and knowledge to
improve your art work while earning drawing and art badges. Participants also receive a
certificate of art appreciation from the Albany Institute, and a free
family pass to the museum. Advance registration is required.

Family Day Festivals
Don't miss these fun-filled
festivals that include lots of museum activities for
participants of every age—art workshops, performances, galleries
activities, and more.

Vacation
Art Break
Take a break from the break and
drop the children at the Albany Institute for art workshops during
school vacation weeks. Classes frequently incorporate gallery
visits to instill both content and context to lessons.
Registration and required and spaces are limited.

Summer Art Programs
It's art fun in the summertime
as children can
participate in Thursday Summer Art Workshops
and/or a Weeklong Summer Art Adventure. Registration is required.
