COMMUNITY EVENT Footprints of Our Ancestors

Public Program, Member Events, Family Programs

Moderated by the African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region

The African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region is proud to present this program that includes personal accounts of African American families who settled in Albany during the Great Migration, seeking a better life from the discriminatory practices of the South. Albany has a rich intact African American population with deep roots in our community. Enjoy this delightful evening of stories and presentations that will bring to life the journey and struggles of families that made the transition from the rural South to our locality.
