Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for creating bibliographies and other pathfinders on specified research topics.  Intern will search the AIHA Library holdings for pertinent materials. Topics may include:

·         Architecture and the Built Environment

·         Colonial Albany

·         Diaries

·         Environmental Issues

·         Erie Canal

·         Genealogical and Biographical Sources

·         History of Albany between 1860 - 1920

·         Hudson River School

·         Immigration

·         Jewish Americans

·         Labor

·         Manufacturing/Factory Work/Industrialization

·         Music

·         Politics and Government

·         Property Research

·         Railroads

·         Recreation/Entertainment

·         African American History

·         Trade and Commerce

·         Women's History

·         World War I

·         World War II

Requirements:

Prefer an upper-level undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated student interested in archives, special libraries, history, public history, anthropology, etc.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Previous research experience.

 Position availability:

Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer

 Hours:

A minimum of 8 hours per week with flexible scheduling between the hours of Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
