Business Office Intern

SUPERVISOR: Alison Begor, Director of Finance & Administration

Summary of Position:

The Business Office Intern’s primary responsibility is to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Business Office, as well as assisting with research, special projects and activities that help promote AIHA, and improve back-office procedures.

 Job Duties:

·        Performing administration duties as needed.

·        Work on special project assignments

·        Assist weekly process of accounts payable and   accounts receivable as needed.

·        Assist with mailings:  maintaining and compiling lists, stuffing envelopes, addressing, coordinating materials, delivery to post office, mail house or funding agencies, etc.

·        Assist in the creation of reports, compile data, perform analysis and review statistics related to financial aspects of the museum.

·        Maintaining and compiling lists

·        Represent the Business Office at special events,  openings, corporate events, membership cultivation activities, luncheons, etc. as requested.

Project Assignments:

Specific project assignments are made at the beginning of the internship with goals and deadlines.  These assignments are to be managed by the intern, under the direction of his/her supervisor. 

Requirements:

We prefer upper-level undergraduate or graduate student working towards a degree in business administration, finance, accounting, marketing, or a museum-related field like art history or history.

We welcome all majors and career fields.

Position availability:

Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer

Hours:

A minimum of 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
