Q: |
Does the Institute serve
as a wedding site? |
|
A: |
Wedding receptions for 50
people or fewer are ideally suited for AIHA. Ceremonies
for 100 people or fewer are also easily accommodated. The
design of the “new” AIHA offers various areas and levels
to host receptions with staggered food stations and very
limited seating for groups over 100 people. Our largest
single room for serving plated meals or a buffet meal has
a total capacity of 96 people. This does not allow
additional space for a dance floor or head table in the
same room or surrounding area. |

|
Q: |
Do you serve food and
beverage at the Institute? |
|
A: |
All food and beverage service
is coordinated and supplied by our off-premise catering
partners, who work directly with our customers. To
receive a list of these caterers, please e-mail us or call
our Marketing Department at 518-463-5502, ext. 437. |
|
|
Q: |
May I use my own caterer
or prepare my own food for guests? |
|
A: |
No. Our caterers offer a wide
variety of cuisine selection and offer flexible pricing to
meet most budgets. In addition, these caterers operate
food and beverage companies with necessary documentation
and certification as required by law. |
|
|
Q: |
How soon should I call
to book my event at AIHA? |
|
A: |
We accept
events scheduled up to 18 months in advance. Although it
is not always necessary, it is suggested that you call to
confirm your event plans no less than 30 days prior to the
event date. |
|
|
Q: |
Do you
have any restrictions on the type of food and beverages
served? |
|
A: |
Yes. AIHA strictly prohibits
red wine, grape juice, strawberries, chocolate sauces
and/or any other food or beverages that may cause stains
on furnishings. |
|
|
Q: |
Do you have any
restrictions on decorations? |
|
A: |
Yes.
Decorations must be fireproof, and no candles or other
open flames are permitted. No tape, staples, tacks; nails
or screws may be used to attach decorations, signs,
banners, etc. Additional restrictions at AIHA include,
but are not limited to: Helium and/or Mylar balloons, use
of glitter, rice, confetti, silly string, and/or any
potential party favor or decoration which presents a risk
of damage to the facility or it’s property.
