Museum Shop Internship


Supervisor: Elizabeth Bechand, Museum Shop Manager

Summary of Position:

The Museum Shop Intern’s primary responsibility is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Museum shop as well as to assist with special projects and activities. The Museum Shop compliments the Museum's exhibition schedule by provide a stunning assortment of contemporary art related titles and objects for sale. Interns will gain experience in conducting a retail space, budgeting, visual merchandising, marketing, special events.  

Job Duties:

·        Conduct sales transaction using the register for cash, check and charge sales

·        Assist customers in the shop and on the phone

·        Receive, price and stock merchandise

·        Assist with merchandise displays

·        Be familiar with Museum Shop merchandise

·        Be aware of events happening in the museum and relay information to visitors.

·        Attend weekly intern program meeting sessions

Position availability:

Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer

Hours:

A minimum of 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling
