|
 |
Keynote Speaker, Fred LeBrun,
Writer/Columnist,
The Albany Times Union
|
The Spring 2007 Corporate Breakfast sponsored by
The Affinity Group was one of the most successful to
date. Seventy business and community leaders from 45 distinct
companies and organizations in the Capital Region attended.
Keynote speaker Fred LeBrun, writer and columnist for the Albany
Times Union captivated everyone present with an animated
discussion of Robert Fulton that related the
entrepreneur's endeavors to modern business in Tech Valley and
stressed the importance of corporate participation in the area's
cultural and historical organizations. M.M. Hayes Co,
Inc., Capital Financial Planning and Omni
Development Company, Inc. were recognized for their
important support of the current exhibition, FULL STEAM AHEAD:
Robert Fulton and the Age of Steamboats, as was the
Equinox Foundation for supporting the research phase in
conjunction with the 2009 Hudson 400 Quadracentennial. Following
breakfast, Ruth Greene-McNally, curator of FULL STEAM AHEAD led
a private tour of the new Fulton exhibition.

"When it comes to spending
quality time among my peers in the Capital Region, I can't think
of a better setting than the Corporate Breakfast at AIHA, which is
why The Affinity Group chose to sponsor this special event. AIHA
provides a refreshing setting for us as business people to get
together, be reminded of the Capital Region's treasures and learn
from our history as we forge the future."
