Welcome to the Museum Learning Initiative

What is the Museum Learning Initiative?

The primary goal of Museum Learning Initiative (MLI) is to strengthen and expand the educational use of museum and cultural organization resources by schools of the Upper Hudson Valley Region. The Albany Institute of History & Art has taken this unique opportunity to encourage partnerships with over sixty area organizations whose educational offerings include options for school groups utilizing object-based learning strategies. Additional organizations are encouraged to share in this resource.

As part of the MLI project, the Albany Institute has created this website. The website features two searchable directories:

Program Directory

A directory of educational program offerings at museums and cultural organizations for area teachers and their students to explore. This directory provides information as well as links to all partners and encourages teachers' use of these organizations.

Video Conferencing Directory

A directory of educational videoconferencing program offerings from this region for distance learning at area and remote school audiences.
