School Vacation Workshops: Objects in Our Lives

We will visit the galleries to see the new installation of decorative arts in the Lansing Gallery and discuss the ways that objects we use in our daily lives are similar to and different from the objects used by people in the past.  Children will explore and learn about design elements and create a vessel of their own in the art studio.  (includes mid-morning snack and art materials and is ideal for children ages 7 – 12.)  Space is limited; Pre-registration is required. $5 AIHA Members; $10 non-members.  Call 518.463.4478 or email to education@albanyinstitute.org to register.  (Second chance to catch the same program on Thursday, April 21, 2005.)

Wednesday April 20 and Friday April 22; 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Playing with Pattern Drop In Activities

Drop in any time during the day to learn about pattern. Visit the galleries for inspiration with a scavenger hunt to lead you to objects with beautiful and intricate patterns and return to the art studio to create your own pattern designs.  (for children ages 6 and older.)
