ALBANY, NY— Stay in town – or come downtown – for evening gallery hours, wonderful finds in the Museum Shop, and special programs during the Albany Institute of History & Art’s monthly Third Thursday Program.

On Thursday, February 15, the Albany Institute of History & Art will offer an informal gallery talk of EARTH & FIRE: A Celebration of Clay and Ceramics at 6:00 pm as part of it’s monthly Third Thursday program.

AIHIA Curator of History, Doug McCombs, will explore the three new main exhibitions comprising EARTH & FIRE: A Celebration of Clay and Ceramics. These include PAUL CUSHMAN: The Work and World of an Early 19th Century Albany Potter, CLAY CONNECTIONS: Four Centuries of Ceramics and their Stories from the Albany Institute’s Collections and CONTAINING HISTORY: Contemporary Ceramics From Regional Potters. Each exhibition showcases clay and ceramics from a historical and creative aspect. They discover the world of ceramics and the world as communicated through ceramic objects.
