ALBANY INSTITUTE OF HISTORY & ART ANNOUNCESMARCH “1st FRIDAY” PROGRAMAlbany, NY--The Albany Institute of History & Art is pleased to announce its participation in the March “1st Friday” celebration on March 2 from 5:00-9:00pm. Festivities include FREE admission to the galleries including, Earth and Fire: A Celebration of Clay and Ceramics, live music, refreshments by regional restaurants and shops and more! "Earth and Fire: A Celebration of Clay and Ceramics" features three exhibitions spanning four centuries of ceramics from across the world. The galleries will showcase objects ranging from 18th century Chinese Export porcelain to regional 19th century earthenware to 21st century pieces just out of the kiln by contemporary regional artists. Wiley Dobbs will present three sets of “New Grass,” a fusion of bluegrass, jazz, and original music, which explores new musical directions while paying homage to the masters. Enjoy complimentary artisan desserts at tasting stations provided courtesy of Albany purveyors, The Chocolate Gecko and Scratch Bakery-Cafe. Admission to the museum will be free, and there will be a 10% discount on select items in the Museum Shop.
