ALBANY INSTITUTE OF HISTORY & ART TO OFFERTEACHER WORKSHOP IN SEPTEMBERALBANY, NY— On Wednesday, September 19, the Albany Institute of History & Art will offer the teacher workshop Full Steam Ahead: The Hudson River and Innovation, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. This workshop focuses on the Albany Institute’s current exhibition FULL STEAM AHEAD: Robert Fulton and the Age of Steamboats, and explores the Hudson River, Robert Fulton and the invention of the steamboat 200 years ago. This workshop is free for New York State Teachers.The Albany Institute’s teacher workshops are open to New York State Educators and teachers of all grade levels. Teachers attending workshops will be introduced to the Albany Institute’s exhibitions, collections and other curriculum-related content by the Education Department, as well as receive teacher materials.FULL STEAM AHEAD: Robert Fulton and the Age of Steamboats commemorates the 200th anniversary of Robert Fulton’s first steamboat voyage of the Clermont in 1807 from New York City to Albany, with images, artifacts and the bellowing sounds of steamboats from a by-gone era.
