 VIDEO PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION ON STEAMSHIPS

AT THE ALBANY INSTITUTE OF HISTORY & ART

ALBANY, NY—On Sunday, November 18, Steamship historian and enthusiast Don Eberle will present a screening and discussion of Steamboats: On the Hudson at the Albany Institute of History & Art at 2:00 pm.

Produced by Milestone Video in association with the Steamship Historical Society of America, Steamboats: On the Hudson surveys 150 years of steamboat navigation on the Hudson River and highlights the fleet of the Hudson River Day Line.

This program is in relation to the Albany Institute’s current exhibition, FULL STEAM AHEAD: Robert Fulton and the Age of Steamboats. FULL STEAM AHEAD commemorates the 200th anniversary of Robert Fulton’s first steamboat voyage of the Clermont in 1807 from New York City to Albany, with images, artifacts and the bellowing sounds of steamboats from a by-gone era.

Albany Institute lecture series features discussions on events, artifacts and influential individuals of special regional interest. This program is FREE with Museum Admission.

Founded in 1791, the Albany Institute of History & Art (AIHA) is a 501(c) 3 cultural and educational institution dedicated to public service.  As a museum, its mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the art, history and culture of Albany and the upper Hudson Valley region from the 17th century to the present.  AIHA acquires collections, conducts research, produces publications, and offers a wide range of exhibitions, educational and public programs that appeal to diverse audiences ranging from pre-K to senior citizens.  The museum is open year round, Wednesday-Sunday.
