| AIHA Plans Day Trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to View MONET IN THE 20TH CENTURY
On Wednesday, October 14, 1998 the Albany Institute of History & Art will host a day bus trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston for a once-in-a lifetime exhibition of the later work of Claude Monet, the founder of Impressionism. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is the only venue in the United States for this exhibition. Highlights of this exhibition include triumphant views of Monet’s garden at Giverny, luminous views of London, seductive paintings of the canals and palaces of Venice, and an incredible recreation of a water lily exhibition organized by Monet in Paris in 1909. MONET IN THE 20TH CENTURY will culminate in an unparalleled gathering of Monet’s last and greatest paintings: the monumental water lily panels that are the triumph of his career. Also featured in this exhibition are many important paintings from all over the world, some of which have not been viewed in decades.
The
trip, which includes an audio-tape tour, round-trip bus transportation,
museum admission (plus admission to all ongoing exhibitions at the MFA),
continental breakfast, and refreshments en route is $55 per person for
Albany Institute members and $65 per person for non-members.
Lunch will be yours to plan. The
bus will leave the Albany Institute promptly at 7:30am and the Museum of
Fine Arts in Boston promptly at 4:30pm.
The reservation deadline is October 2, 1998 and due to the trip’s
popularity, participants are encouraged to respond early.
