  • Enjoy a lecture by Mr. Mummy.  "Mummification: Resurrection of an Ancient Art” by Robert Brier, Ph.D.  In 1994, Dr. Robert Brier made international headlines by mummifying a modern-day cadaver with a colleague.  Using ancient tools and procedures, Dr. Brier made the first attempt in 2,000 years to mummify a corpse employing the ancient techniques used to preserve the pharaohs.  The project became the subject of a National Geographic television documentary, Mr. Mummy.  (Dr. Brier will be available at 2:00pm to sign copies of his books available in the Museum Shop.)

Ancient Egypt Day is supported by Fleet.  Dr. Brier’s lecture is supported by a grant from the Museum Loan Network.
