Giving Opportunities
ANNUAL SUPPORT
Special Projects Donors with special interests can help
advance activities in every area of the museum. Special
exhibitions, education projects, special events, publications, conservation, collections
acquisitions, research, technology and capital improvements are just
some of the areas in need of support.
Tribute Gifts
An Honor or Memorial Gift is a thoughtful way to celebrate a special
occasion or to honor family or friends.
Matching
Gifts Many
employers match their employees’ charitable giving. If your company has
a matching gifts program, it could double your gift to the Albany
Institute. Please check with your company’s Human Resources office for
details on how to maximize your gift to the museum.
Adopt an
Object Your
name (or designee’s) will appear adjacent to a selected work on view in
AIHA's permanent collection galleries for one year. Your contribution
helps to support the ongoing care and management of the museum’s
holdings including research- and conservation-related activities.
Gifts In Kind
In-kind donations are goods and services provided at reduced or no cost
to the museum in lieu of a monetary gift. These donations support a
variety of programs, events and projects.

support the museum’s ongoing operating needs as well as collections,
education, access and preservation projects for generations to come.
1791 Legacy
Society
Help ensure the future
of the Albany Institute through a bequest or other planned gift.
Through your will or other gift planning instrument, you can make a
lasting statement about your commitment to the mission and objectives of
the museum.
Gifts to the Museum & Library Collections
The Albany
Institute’s collections acquisitions reflect the museum’s mission – the
history, art and culture of Albany and the upper Hudson Valley from the
17th century to the present. A variety of issues are taken
into consideration when assessing a potential donation to the museum’s
collections. These include: the relevance of the object(s) to the
museum’s mission and areas of collection emphasis; historical
significance and/or artistic merit; physical condition, storage, care
and conservation needs; and potential for use in research,
interpretation and public access. If you are interested in donating
objects, works of art or library materials to the AIHA permanent
collections, please contact Tammis K. Groft, Deputy Director for
Collections and Exhibitions, by telephone: 518-463-4478 ext 423 or by
email at
grofttk@albanyinstitute.org. All potential donations to the Albany
Institute’s collections must be reviewed and approved by the museum's
Collection Committee.
