Lecture
Lady Helen, Countess of Rosslyn

Rosslyn Chapel: Fact and Fiction

4:00 pm Lecture

$10/members; $15 nonmembers

5:15 pm Reception

$75 for lecture and reception

Scotland’s Rossl
yn Chapel was thrust into the international spotlight after it was featured in the mega-bestseller, The Da Vinci Code, as well as the blockbuster 2006 movie. Not only is the 15th-century building architecturally and artistically beautiful, the abundant religious and pagan symbolism carved into Rosslyn’s stone edifice—as well as fabled links to organizations such as the Freemasons and the Knights Templar—has been celebrated in literature and art.

On Saturday, September 26, Lady Helen, Countess of Rosslyn, a well-respected historian, curator, and a member of the family which has owned Rosslyn for centuries, presents “Rosslyn Chapel: Fact and Fiction,” an intriguing look at the stories surrounding this medieval structure, as well as the international fundraising efforts that have been undertaken to return it to its former glory. This lecture is co-sponsored by St. Andrew’s Society of Albany; National Trust for Scotland Foundation, USA, and will be followed by a reception at 5:15 pm.

Fee for lecture only, $10 members/$15 non-members. Fee for lecture and reception: $75. Registration is required. Call (518) 463-4478 for information.
