2009 HUDSON 400
SPELLING BEE
The 2009 Hudson 400 Spelling Bee—presented by the Albany Institute
of History & Art and sponsored by the Albany County Convention and
Visitors Bureau through a New York State Legislative Grant—is an event
that challenges children ages 8 to 14 to utilize their spelling and
phonetic skills in a competitive environment while learning about the
current Albany Institute exhibition,
Hudson River Panorama: 400 Years of History, Art,
and Culture.
Vocabulary from the exhibition, including artworks, labels, and
exhibition scripts, as well as rules and regulations, will be available
in downloadable form at
www.albanyinstitute.org/spellingbee.htm.
Words used in the spelling bee will be taken from these documents.
Awards will be made for first, second, and third place. Registration is
open to individuals, from public, private, parochial, and home schools.
Contestants must enroll on or before 5:00 pm, November 2, 2009.

Enjoy a docent-lead tour of the Albany Institute's current exhibits,
including Hudson River Panorama: 400 Years of History, Art, and
Culture. Gallery talks are held Saturdays at 2:00 pm and Sundays at
3:00 pm. Free with museum admission. Schedule is subject to change.
