The 2009 Hudson 400 Spelling Bee—presented by the Albany Institute of History & Art and sponsored by the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau through a New York State Legislative Grant—is an event that challenges children ages 8 to 14 to utilize their spelling and phonetic skills in a competitive environment while learning about the current Albany Institute exhibition, Hudson River Panorama: 400 Years of History, Art, and Culture.

Words used in the spelling bee will be taken from these documents. Awards will be made for first, second, and third place. Registration is open to individuals, from public, private, parochial, and home schools.
