Digital Portraits and Color: Blend new and old style by using
digital photography to help create an Impressionist portrait. Students
will be introduced to Impressionism, use of color, technique, and mixing

While children 8 and older are in the
homeschool program, drop in to the Albany Institute’s Key Cultural
Center with your younger ones for open art-making experiences. $5 per
person.

FIRST FRIDAY
On the first Friday of each month, the Albany Institute remains open
until 8:00pm and admission to our galleries is free as part of 1st
Fridays, the downtown arts walk that showcases the thriving and lively
art scene in downtown Albany. The event is free and open to the
public. Albany Institute members receive a 10 percent discount on selected items in
the Museum Shop.

Sponsored by the Hudson Valley
Writers Guild, the Albany Institute of History & Art, Arts
Center of the Capital Region, and the Historic Albany Foundation, as
part of November’s 1st Fridays event, this reception and reading invites
participants to share with the public the art work they’ve created in
response to IMPRESSIONIST GIVERNY.
