Vacation Art Break

Take a break from the school vacation break with children’s art workshops at the Albany Institute. Classes frequently incorporate gallery visits to instill both content and context to lessons.

Morning sessions (9:00 am–noon): for children 6 to 8 years old
Afternoon sessions (1:00–4:00 pm): for children 9 to 13 years old

Egyptian masks were an important part of ancient burial practices. Learn all about these fascinating masks and create your own mask with mixed media and paint.

Canopic Jars
Learn how canopic jars were used by the ancient Egyptians during the rituals of mummification. Design, mold, and form a jar using hand-building techniques and clay.

Egyptian Hieroglyphics
Act like an Egyptian by using hieroglyphics to symbolize your name.
