Opening- Kid Stuff: Great Toys from Our Childhood

 

Visit the museum during our regular hours to welcome in our newest exhibition, Kid Stuff: Great Toys from Our Childhood.  Children that stop in can take home a FREE Slinky style spring toy (while supplies last).

 

Family Festival 10:00 am–5:00 pm, Parade at 3:00 pm

In celebration of the opening of Kid Stuff: Great Toys from Our Childhood, there will be musical instrument making in our studio and a musical parade through the galleries at 3:00 pm.  This event is supported in part by Bank of America.

 

Special Member's Preview—Fall Exhibitions 10:00 am

Members are welcome to enjoy light refreshments and a guided tour of the Albany Institute’s biggest fall exhibitions.  This includes Albany and the Civil War: Medicine on the Home and Battle Fronts, First in the Hearts of His Countrymen: George Washington, and the first look at Kid Stuff: Great Toys from Our Childhood.  Must be an Albany Institute member to participate; for more information, contact Monica Weiss, Individual Giving Coordinator, at (518) 463-4478, ext. 408, weissm@albanyinstitute.org.

Play for All


If you enjoy our Art for All sessions, then you will love Play for All.  Drop in during regular museum hours on Saturdays throughout the run of our new exhibition, Kid Stuff: Great Toys From Our Childhood, and enjoy a guided tour through its 16 interactive toy stations.  Children that stop in can take home a FREE Slinky® style spring toy (while supplies last).

Gallery Talks

Enjoy a docent-led tour of the Albany Institute’s newest exhibitions, Kid Stuff: Great Toys From Our Childhood, First in the Hearts of His Countrymen: George Washington, Albany and the Civil War: Medicine on the Home and Battle Fronts, and the Institute’s permanent collections, including 19th-Century American Sculpture, Ancient Egypt, A Sense of Place, and Traders and Culture. Gallery talks are held on select Saturdays (2:00 pm) and Sundays (3:00 pm. Free with paid museum admission. Schedule is subject to change. Please call to confirm.
