 37th Annual Antiquarian Book and Ephemera Fair
10:00 am–4:00 pm

 

Have all your books, posters, ephemera, and collectibles appraised at the 37th Annual Antiquarian Book and Ephemera Fair, to be held at the Washington Avenue Armory Sports and Convention Arena, 195 Washington Ave., Albany, on Sunday, October 23, 2011, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The fair is presented by the Albany Institute of History & Art. In addition to professional appraisals, the book fair will feature 60 dealers of rare, antiquarian, and out-of–print books, manuscripts, autographs, postcards, maps, posters, photographs, ephemera, and more. There will also be a silent auction of donated collectible items, many of local interest. All proceeds of the auction will benefit the research library of the Albany Institute of History & Art. Enjoy a docent-led tour of the Albany Institute’s newest exhibitions, Kid Stuff: Great Toys From Our Childhood, First in the Hearts of His Countrymen: George Washington, Albany and the Civil War: Medicine on the Home and Battle Fronts, and the Institute’s permanent collections, including 19th-Century American Sculpture, Ancient Egypt, A Sense of Place, and Traders and Culture. Gallery talks are held on select Saturdays (2:00 pm) and Sundays (3:00 pm. Free with paid museum admission. Schedule is subject to change. Please call to confirm.
