A non-circulating library, the Albany Institute's Library collection of more than one million items includes extensive collections of primary source material such as photographs, manuscripts, architectural drawings, broadsides, ephemera, maps and scrapbooks in addition to more than 14,000 history and art reference volumes and 125 periodicals and newsletters. Materials in the library complement and enhance the Curatorial Department's collections of fine arts, decorative arts and historical artifacts.

Thursdays 1:00-4:30pm and by appointment

Permission for use of or reproduction of an image related to the Albany Institute of History & Art may be obtained by following the AIHA Rights & Reproductions procedures.


LIBRARY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The AIHA Library has numerous opportunities for volunteers and interns to assist with projects including accessioning collections, archives and manuscript processing, developing bibliographies and book processing. [more information]
