Teacher Resources

The Albany Institute is a great resource for teachers who are looking for ways to integrate art, objects and primary sources into the classroom. The Albany Institute’s Education Department welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with schools in curriculum development and special projects.

Professional Development
The Albany Institute can design and implement teacher workshops to meet the specific needs within the classroom. Sessions can occur at your site or at the museum.  Topics can range from the broad "Integrating Objects and Primary Resources into the Classroom" Teaching” to the more specialized “The Material Culture of the 19th Century”.  Fees vary.

Reproductions and Slides
Many of the objects in the Albany Institute’s collection are available in photographic form (slides and prints) for use in classroom teaching.  These images are only for instructional purposes and must not be duplicated, under penalty of law.  Contact Rights and Reproductions  for more information.

Resource Kits
Many teacher resource material is available through the Greater Capital Region Teacher Center Curriculum Resource Collection (518-479-4083) or http://www.teachercenter.org/resources/
