HOME SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
FOR FAMILIES
Engage in artistic exploration and historical learning as a family. Each family member will participate in the creative process to produce works of art inspired by objects in our galleries.

Fee: $8 per participant for non-members, $6 per participant for members, includes museum admission and art materials. Adults are required to attend with children and are included as participants in the activities. Select Mondays from 9:30- 11:30. Registration is required and payment is due at the time of registration. Open to all ages with parents.

Superhero Shoes

After viewing the shoes in the Old Soles and The Perfect Fit exhibitions to explore how shoes give us power and protect us, participants will design a shoe that might give someone superhuman powers.

Monday, November 22:
Color and Pattern Collage

9:30–11:30 am

Participants will explore colors and patterns found in objects on view in our galleries and create their own collages of color and pattern in our studio.

Monday, December 13:
Landscape Printmaking

9:30–11:30 am

After examining landscape paintings on display in the galleries, participants will use printmaking techniques to create their own landscapes.

HOME SCHOOL CLASSES FOR CHILDREN
Experience a home school program in which class subjects relate to the exhibitions on view, and incorporate art and historical references to provide a context for learning.

Fee: $15 for non-members, $10 for members, includes museum admission and art materials.
Select Thursdays and Fridays, drop-off from 1:30–4:30 pm. Registration is required and payment is due at the time of registration. ASL interpretation is offered for this program. Age requirement is 8 years and older.

1:00–3:30 pm (ages 8–11)

Using books on view in our galleries as models, participants will create their own sketchbook and sketch outside (weather permitting) in our sculpture garden or in our galleries.
