Experience a home school program in
which class subjects relate to the exhibitions on view, and incorporate
art and historical references to provide a context for learning.
Fee: $15 for
non-members, $10 for members, includes museum admission and art
materials. Select Thursdays and
Fridays, drop-off from
1:30–4:30 pm. Registration is required and
payment is due at the time of registration. ASL interpretation is
offered for this program. Age requirement is 8 years and older.

Egyptian Mask Making
Egyptian masks were an important part of
burial practices during ancient Egyptian times. Learn all about these
fascinating masks and create your own mask with mixed media and paint.

Native American Design
Learn about Native American trade and
transportation along the Hudson River and explore Native American design
using felt and fabric paints.

Drawing Vessels
Have fun with drawing and learn to
view art in new ways. Experiment with different drawing materials and
focus on shape, composition, and line.
Friday, December 4

Japanese Fan
Create a Japanese-inspired fan by
staining paper and adding decorative nature motifs.

Activity Days
An afternoon for home-schooling families
dedicated to exploring our exhibition through the Hudson River
Panorama Family Discovery Guide. Inside the guide, families will
find questions for guided viewing of our collection, activities, and
suggestions for further exploration. The second portion of the afternoon
introduces Gyotaku, a traditional form of Japanese fish printing.
