Museum Volunteers
The Albany
Institute relies on volunteers to help with educational
programs, special events, and administrative support.
Our
volunteers are involved in many aspects of the Albany
Institute and are essential to our success. Please contact

Volunteer Docents
Docents provide programs for K-12th grade school groups, lead
gallery tours for adult groups and contribute assistance for special
events. Through gallery interpretation and programming, docents make
the objects and exhibitions in the museum relevant to visitors.

About AIHA Internships:
The Albany Institute of History & Art welcomes
talented students who are looking for an opportunity to work in a museum
setting. Interns will work directly with museum professionals in the
areas of: arts administration; public relations and marketing;
curatorial practices; development/fundraising; education; event
planning; and the museum
