Registrar

Pay rate: $42,000 – $52,000 annually*

As a key member of the Curatorial team, the Registrar is responsible for leading the day-to-day management of collections items, including intake (new acquisitions and loans), storage, handling, catalogue database input, safety & security, and transport. The Registrar collaborates with other members of the curatorial staff to prepare items for installation and exhibition, ensure safe, secure, and appropriate display and care, and provide catalogue information, as needed.

*Part-time/limited-duration: AIHA is open to discussing part-time or limited-duration employment for highly qualified candidates whose experience aligns with the museum's needs. Compensation will be prorated for part-time employment and benefits may vary.

Visitor Experience & Retail Associate

Pay rate: $16/hour

The Visitor Experience & Retail Associate is responsible for the front-line operations of the Albany Institute of History & Art’s (AIHA) admission desk and museum shop, playing a critical role in shaping the first impression of the museum for every visitor. This role supports creating a visitor experience that is welcoming, informative, and seamless from arrival through departure. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, generally ranging from 12–24 hours per week during museum open hours; weekend availability required.
