Adult Tours

The museum galleries have re-opened and in-person group tours are being offered under limited circumstances and with required masks. Please review the guidelines below to determine whether an in-person or virtual tour would be the best fit for your group! 

 

In-Person Visits

The Albany Institute is happy to offer limited in-person tours for groups under the following conditions. Tours are led by trained museum docents or educators and are offered during regular museums hours, Wednesdays through Sundays. Guided tours must be booked 2 weeks in advance. Please allow at least one hour for your tour.

  1. Groups will be limited to 20 participants per hour program.
  2. Face masks are currently required for registered museum programming, including guided tours.

  3. In-person tours may be postponed or shifted to virtual programs in the event of changes to COVID-19 cases in New York State or government guidelines relating to COVID-19 social distancing protocol.

COST: The fee for an in-person guided tour of the Albany Institute is $100 for up to ten people. Additional adults are $10 per person. Museum admission is included in this fee. To make a reservation, please contact Sarah Clowe at clowes@albanyinstitute.org or 518-463-4478 ext 435.

Virtual Tours

The Albany Institute is continuing to offer virtual group tours for adults. Tours are led by trained museum docents or educators and are offered during regular museums hours, Wednesdays through Sundays. Guided tours must be booked 2 weeks in advance. Please allow at least one hour for your tour. 

COST: The fee for a virtual tour of the Albany Institute is $125 per program. To make a reservation, please contact Sarah Clowe at clowes@albanyinstitute.org or 518-463-4478 ext 435. 

Please note: Albany Institute member admission discounts and members of the Empire State Museums Reciprocal Program apply to individual admission only and do not apply to guided tour fees. Self-guided groups will be charged regular individual admission.
