Egberts (1711–1771), an Albany merchant, and his wife, Maria Lents (d. 1784), are memorialized on this locket, probably painted by Albany artist Ezra Ames soon after Abraham's death. Both Benjamin and Abraham were veterans of the American Revolutionary War.
