Comments:
Margarita Douw of Albany filled a metal pan with hot coals and inserted it into her carved wooden stove to warm her feet and legs. The initials “MD” inscribed on the right door identify the stove as her own, while the date “1675” gives us an idea when it was made. Margarita brought the stove with her to Albany from the Netherlands as analysis of the wood has determined it to be European maple.
