Comments:
The photograph captures two well-known Albany businesses: the print shop and bindery of Joel Munsell and the seed and agricultural supply store of Volker Petrus Douw. According to the Bi-centennial History of Albany published in 1886, V. P. Dow & Co. bought the seed and agricultural supply store from William Thorburn in 1868 and continued the business until 1875 when Price & Knickerbocker bought the business.
