Railroads on Parade, a spectacular musical production staged at the 1939 New York World's Fair, featured a cast of 250 performers and 20 real locomotives. Leslie Ragan's poster contrasts a nineteenth-century locomotive with Raymond Loewy's streamlined S1 "Broadway Limited," designed for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
