VIRTUAL PROGRAM Harlem in Vogue: Fashion and Style in the Harlem Renaissance

Our guest presenter is Donald Hyman, Faculty Advisor for the Cosmetology Club at Albany High School's Abrookin Career and Technical Center.

Join us for a dynamic presentation on the sharp style of 1920s and 1930s Harlem. 

Donald Hyman will present a multi-media program showcasing fashion within the literature, music, and business of the time, including a slideshow demonstration of costumes and period-appropriate hair styles. 

Hyman studied Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design and was a professor of American Studies at The College of St. Rose. He is the Faculty Advisor for the Cosmetology Club at Albany High School's Abrookin Career and Technical Center.

This free program is presented in partership with Open Stage Media and Collaborative Studios and will be live-streamed on Facebook. While the presentation is pre-recorded, a live Q&A will take place at the end of the session and questions may be entered via comments on the Facebook live streaming. No registration is required.
