Family Free Day Activities for Visitors of All Ages
Felt Flower Bookmarks in the Key Cultural Center (11AM–4PM)
Create your own floral bookmarks inspired by the flowers of Cragsmoor. Choose from a variety of colors to design your own unique flower. While your bookmark dries, explore the galleries and other activities around the museum.
Blind Contour Drawings in the Atrium (11AM–4PM)
Inspired by Curran’s practice of portraiture, pick a partner and draw their portrait–without looking at your paper! Observe your partner’s features carefully, and make sure not to pick up your pencil.
Edwardian Dresses in the Atrium (11AM–4PM)
Inspired by the outfits worn by models in Curran’s paintings and the historic dresses from the Albany Institute's collection, visitors can make their own miniature Edwardian dresses using lace doilies.
Cloud Scavenger Hunt (11AM–4PM)
Inspired by Curran’s luminous depictions of the sky, visitors can take a self-guided scavenger hunt and search for clouds in paintings throughout the museum. Find all the clouds and redeem a prize at the Admission Desk!
Docent Tours (11AM & 2PM)
Join docents at 11AM and 2PM for general museum tours. Docent tours are an excellent way to learn more about the artworks and objects on display, in addition to the stories they tell. Interaction and questions are encouraged!
