First Friday - Back to School Edition

Albany Institute of History & Art holds extended hours for the city of Albany's popular First Friday program! Enjoy a cash bar, live music, and free gallery admission. October First Friday is Back to School Night!

Inspired by the exhibition Spotlight: The College of Saint Rose (only on view through October 5, 2025), spend First Friday at the Albany Institute.

Enjoy live music by UAlbany—student musicians from UAlbany’s Chamber Singers will present a selection of songs in a colorful preview of their Fall concert, and UAlbany’s Minerva Ensemble will perform a wide variety of chamber music including music for brass quintet, string quartet, piano trio, and more.

Students from UAlbany studying Game Design and Development will be sharing their own original games, prototypes and works in progress.

Work on your junk journal or planner with The Ladybug Club in the classroom—supplies included.

Plus pizza, a cash bar, and a special museum pass giveaway!
