First Friday

Albany Institute of History & Art holds extended hours for the city of Albany's popular First Friday program! Enjoy free gallery admission from 5–7PM, hands-on activities, and a pop-up bar.

March First Friday features a special performance by Opera Saratoga!

Opera Saratoga's festival artists sing standards, arias, and musical theater gems in three fifteen-minute sets throughout the museum. Celebrating the Opera's 65th anniversary as the Capital Region's only opera company. For more information, visit operasaratoga.org.

March First Friday also features a hands-on printmaking activity in the classroom.

Create a custom print inspired by Blanche Lazzell: Becoming an American Modernist. Using a Gelli plate, participants can collage magazine clippings, leaves and textured objects to create a unique monoprint! All tools are provided, and all experience levels are welcome.
