Exhibition Installation & Gallery Renovations Summer 2013

The Albany Institute is changing its exhibitions and renovating its gallery space. Several areas will be closed to the public. There will also be construction at our back entrance in September.

EXHIBITIONS AND GALLERIES: During the summer of 2013, the Albany Institute is renovating some of its large galleries. The Ancient Egypt Room will be closed on August 25, 2013 (to start setting up for the upcoming exhibition GE Presents: The Mystery of the Albany Mummies).The Lansing Gallery will be closed in June 2013 and re-opened in October of 2013. Signs have been posted throughout the museum and information will continue to be updated on the AIHA website. ENTRY-WAY CONSTRUCTION: In September, the back entrance to the Albany Institute of History & Art will be under construction. All visitors are asked to use the Washington Avenue entrance during this time. Parking in the Institute parking lot will be limited, but spaces are available on near-by streets. There is metered parking on the streets until 6pm on weekdays; it is free on weekends.
