Celebrate the start of the holiday season at the Albany Institute!

THE MUSEUM WILL BE CLOSING AT 4PM ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2019 DUE TO WEATHER.

Our popular free admission weekend has something fun for everyone!

Bring friends and family to take your photograph with Santa; discover decorated trees and mantelpieces; admire a special exhibition of miniature dioramas by Joan Steiner, the award-winning illustrator and creator of the Look-Alikes® books; make crafts; shop for handmade items and one-of-a-kind gifts in our Museum Shop; savor exquisite treats from the Museum Shop; explore our current exhibitions; and more!

Current exhibitions include: The Schuyler Sisters & Their Circle, Joseph Hidley: Folk Artist, A Brilliant Bit of Color: The Work of Walter Launt Palmer, The Hudson River School: Landscape Paintings from the Albany Institute, Ancient Egypt, and more. In addition, a recently discovered oil sketch by Anthony van Dyck is on view.

Our exhibitions, Museum Shop, and Museum Cafe will be open during our regular operating hours November 29-December 1, 2019. Here is the schedule for our drop-in craft making activity and photographs with Santa:
