Ancient Egypt Seen Through the Eyes of an Archaeologist - 9–12 year-old session

Egyptologist Dows Dunham excavated throughout Egypt and Nubia exploring ruins of burial tombs and temples. Through these damaged monuments, we have learned an extraordinary amount of information about the Ancient Egyptians. Join us as we explore the different landscapes and professions of Ancient Egypt: farmers who worked on the Nile River Delta, artists and stone masons who worked on the pyramids, and priests who worked in Karnak. We will use the same artifacts discovered by Dunham to learn about the Ancient Egyptians and create a model of Ancient Egypt like the one on view in the exhibition From the Hudson to the Nile: Dows Dunham and the Archaeology of Egypt and Sudan.

Advanced registration is required for all participants, spaces are limited. No payment will be required to complete registration; all payment will be processed in person at the museum on the first day of the session. The session will be cancelled if minimum registration is not met one week prior to the session date. Registration for each session will close the day before the program for administrative purposes.
