Enjoy fine fare, support the museum and local artists at our Work of Art Auction, and get a behind-the-scenes peek at Masterworks: 225 Years of Collecting (opening November 21).
The centerpiece of this year's Work of Art fundraising event will be a silent art auction. This auction will celebrate and promote one of the Capital Region's greatest assets: its vibrant community of working artists. The Albany Institute has worked with contemporary artists for generations, and this art auction will continue the museum's support of local art. Proceeds raised will be shared between the Albany Institute and the presenting artists, encouraging generations of art creators and art appreciators to continue to thrive in the Capital Region.

Katherine (Kay) Linn Sage (Tanguy) was an internationally known Surrealist painter who was born in Albany, New York. Sage's work includes forms covered with rigid draperies, sometimes suggesting figurative shapes beneath. This piece, Margin of Silence, is the Albany Institute's most traveled painting, having been most recently on view at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid.
