Since the 1980s, Phyllis Galembo’s photographs have chronicled regional ritual clothing in communities throughout Africa and the Americas. In Mexico Masks / Rituals, Galembo turns her photographic lens to Mexico, introducing viewers to the region’s rich cultural history through large scale portraits that celebrate her sitters' festive dress.
