Have you ever wondered what's behind closed doors? Join us a private collectors open their homes and discuss their personal collections. This tour is based in downtown Albany and will include the homes of Douglas Cohn, DVM, and Christine Miles, AIHA Director Emeritus. This event is the inaugural tour for The Art of Collecting program focused on private collections and collecting.

Come spend time with the Albany Institute of History & Art at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. We will host a champagne reception on the lawn on the evening when the Philadelphia Orchestra will perform Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. The reception will start prior to the performance and the tent will be open through intermission.

Join us at our second annual Hudson Valley Hops! Discover the history of beer and brewing in Albany, New York, while enjoying samples from local breweries.  This year's brewers are Adirondack Brewery, Brown's Brewing Company, Brewery Ommegang, Chatham Brewing LLC, C.H. Evans Brewing, Crossroads Brewery, and Keegan Ales. Our speakers this year include Kathy Quinn speaking about the history of The Quinn and Nolan Brewery, Craig Gravina speaking about the history of brewing in Albany, and Dietrich Gehring on heritge hops.

The Drawings of William Hart with Curator of History and Material Culture Doug McCombs, Ph.D.

Look at a collection of drawings by William Hart (1823-1894), donated by a descendent. Hart was a Hudson River School artist who grew up in Albany. Members will learn about Hart and the process of donation, conservation, storage, and selection for exhibition. Many of the drawings have recently returned from undergoing conservation treatment funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. This event is open only to AIHA Members.
