Preserving History & Art for Many Lifetimes to Come
Join the community of people who value the Albany Institute of History & Art and want it to continue to span generations. When you provide for the Institute in your estate plan…be it in your will, living trust, life insurance, retirement plan or other vehicle…you become a member of the organization’s Fifth Century Legacy Society.
The Society honors philanthropic leadership and vision of those individuals who have thoughtfully provided for the future of this outstanding over 225 year old community treasure through a planned gift.
There is no doubt that there are many ways your philanthropic gifts can blend with your own financial needs and tax planning. As a donor, you are in control of your gift. You may designate it with a specific purpose in mind such as the Institute’s endowment fund or leave it unrestricted so that it can be applied to the areas of greatest need. You can help preserve history and art for many lifetimes to come.
Charles M. Liddle III, AIHA Board of Trustee member and Chair of the Fifth Century Legacy Society : “Over the years, my wife Nancy and I have supported the Institute in many ways. We wanted to make sure to continue that support in perpetuity. So we made appropriate arrangements through our donor advised fund and our joint IRA’s at the Community Foundation of the Greater Capital Region to make sure that AIHA will be here for many generations to come.
One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest in your will by which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate.
In exchange for your gift of cash or marketable securities to the Albany Institute of History & Art, we agree to pay you (and a survivor or other beneficiary) a fixed amount annually for your lifetime.
This life income plan is created by transferring assets to a trust that pays you (and another beneficiary, if you wish), a specified amount annually or monthly for life. The remainder of the trust then comes to AIHA.
The contribution of life insurance can provide a substantial gift to the Albany Institute of History & Art.
Individuals with very large estates can use a charitable lead trust to benefit the Albany Institute of History & Art and pass the principal to family members at a greatly reduced tax cost.
Naming the Albany Institute of History & Art as the beneficiary of your retirement plan is one of the easiest ways to make a legacy gift as it merely requires that the donor complete a new beneficiary designation form and typically does not require new legal documents.
Members of the Fifth Century Legacy Society receive great benefits including:

Hi Raphel, thank you for your interest in the art kits! Yes, you absolutely can order multiple sets. We ask that if someone would like to make a large order (such as 10 or more) for a whole class that they get in touch with our Director of Art Programs, Sarah Clowe directly so we can ensure we have enough prepared in stock.
