The Albany Institute's painting collection includes portraits, landscapes, still
lifes, genre scenes, architectural renderings and abstractions ranging from the 18th century to the present. |
Highlights include over 40 examples of early 18th century Hudson Valley portraits and scripture paintings, work by Ezra Ames (1783-1836), Hudson River School landscapes, works by Walter Launt Palmer (1854-1932), folk art and contemporary regional art.
Highlights of the sculpture collection include the largest repository of works by Erastus Dow Palmer and a large body of work by Charles
Calverley.
