The Albany Institute of History & Art's mission is to connect diverse audiences to the art, history, and culture of the upper Hudson Valley through its collections, exhibitions, and programs.
Each year, the Albany Institute serves thousands of students with education programs, hosts numerous lectures and community events, welcomes researchers into the library, and curates special exhibitions.
Your donation to the Albany Institute of History & Art will help us to maintain our collection, to conduct research, and connect to thousands of visitors, from seniors to school groups.

As New York's oldest museum, the Albany Institute of History & Art knows a thing or two about history. This year, though, we lived in the present and prepared for the future. We hosted exhibitions that explored women's history, featured contemporary artists, and uncovered early American politics. We developed digital content to encourage creativity and curiosity at home with our Museum at Home initiative, and have shared art projects ideas, behind-the-scenes blog posts, virtual presentations with guest lecturers, insightful art videos, and more. We are working with community partners to grow into an organization that reflects all of the great strengths of our region.
Our future is with you! As we continue to respond to changes in our world and navigate new possibilities, we are encouraged by your support. Thank you for the creativity and curiosity you shared this year - we continue to be inspired by you! Please consider making an end-of-year gift today. Learn more.
