Tulip Art Challenge

Author: Sarah Clowe, Director of Art Programs

Submit your tulip art for our virtual celebration of Albany's traditional Tulip Festival!

Join us in taking the city of Albany's annual Tulip Festival celebration online by sharing your own tulip art! Entries will be digitally "stitched" together into tulip "quilts" that we'll share on social media and on our website Mother's Day weekend when the Tulip Festival would've taken place in Washington Park.

To read more about the Tulip Festival and how the city and cultural organizations are celebrating virtually you may visit: Discover Albany's Q&A: Discover Tulip Festival's Fascinating History & Dutch Roots

-Tulip art entries will be accepted until the end of May 5th, 2020.

-Artists of all ages are welcome to participate and if enough entries are received separate "quilts" will be made from the different age ranges.

-Photographs of tulip art made from all different materials are welcome! Don't have formal art materials at home? No worries! Try sculpting a tulip out of tin foil, or arrange colorful found objects into a tulip shape. Feel free to be creative, use what you have whether it's formal painting and drawing materials, or whatever you happen to have on hand. We ask that all submissions are of artwork created to be tulips rather than photographs of actual tulips.
